Swizchem at Terkko Health Hub, Helsinki — May 2025
There are certain moments in building a company where things start to feel real. For us, May 26th was one of those moments. We co-hosted our first seminar at Terkko Health Hub - Finland's largest health and life sciences hub, located right in the heart of Helsinki's medical campus at Meilahti. The room was filled with researchers from the Department of Medicine and the Department of Pharmacy, which is exactly the kind of audience we wanted to be in front of. The session was straightforward in its purpose: we presented Swizchem's business idea and model, what we do, what problem we're solving, and how we see our role in the drug discovery ecosystem. As a company built around the custom synthesis of organic molecules, we exist at a very specific and critical point in the discovery pipeline. Researchers and medicinal chemists need compounds the right compounds, synthesised to exact specifications, on timelines that actually work for their programmes. That's the gap we're filling. What made the seminar particularly valuable wasn't just the presentation itself, it was the discussion that followed. The questions were sharp, the interest was genuine, and the conversations that spilled out afterwards gave us real signal about where Swizchem's offering resonates most. That kind of direct, honest engagement with the scientific community is something we'll keep seeking out. Terkko Health Hub is a remarkable environment for this kind of exchange. It sits at the intersection of academic medicine, clinical research, and industry and that makes it exactly the kind of place where conversations about early drug discovery chemistry can happen at the right level of depth. We're grateful to the Terkko team for the collaboration and for opening up that space for us.
Key Takeaways
- Swizchem hosted its first ever seminar on May 26th 2025
- Venue was Terkko Health Hub — Finland's largest health and life sciences hub
- Audience included Helsinki-based researchers from Medicine and Pharmacy departments
- We presented Swizchem's business idea, model, and vision
- Post-seminar conversations gave us direct feedback from the scientific community
- Marks the beginning of Swizchem's engagement with the Finnish research ecosystem
This was our first seminar cum workshop. It won't be the last. We're committed to staying close to the research community because the best chemistry happens when scientists and synthesisers are in the same room, talking openly about what's actually needed. More events, more conversations, more to come.
